The Santos Dumont Sports Center, in Boa Viagem, Recife-PE, was the stage for the resumption of Brazilian beach soccer in 2020. The 2nd stage of the 2020 Brazilian Beach Soccer Championship kicked off on Wednesday (28/10) and featured an old acquaintance from the sands. At the age of 43, the experienced André Bigode, the fifth highest scorer in the history of the Brazilian national team with 242 goals, netted three times for Treze-PB in their 11-3 thrashing of América-RN. It was the only scoreline in a day full of matches in Group B (North/Northeast).
Náutico-PE 2 - 3 Cabense-PE
In the first match of the day, it was a duel of hosts. Náutico and Cabense dueled in search of their first three points in the competition. More traditional and with experienced players in their squad, such as Fernando DDI, the star and eternal idol of the Brazilian national team, the team from the capital was the favorite. However, the team from Cabo de Santo Agostinho showed a lot of grit and were relentless in their pursuit of the result. After the final whistle, the Cabense players celebrated their victory. NÁUTICO GOALS: Andrey and Fernando DDI. CABENSE GOALS: Cleiton, Felipe (goalkeeper) and Sérgio.
Treze-PB 3-11 América-RN
With some of the biggest names on the national scene, América-RN showed their strength against Treze-PB. André Bigode, one of the sport's great idols, Reyner, who has played for the national team, and Edson Hulk, one of the greats of the new generation of Brazilian beach soccer and constantly called up by coach Gilberto Costa, were the stars of the night. Together they scored eight of the 11 goals in the win over the team from Paraíba. André Bigode, who scored a hat-trick, was also able to celebrate his son Arthur's goal. Three easy points for the Potiguar team in the first round of the competition. THIRTEEN GOALS: Weverton, Walace Paraíba and Pedro Henrique. AMERICA GOALS: André Bigode (3), Reyder (3), Edson Hulk (2), Arthur, Alexandre and Francisco.
Sport-PE 1 - 2 Murici-AL
You know the saying "it's tastier coming back"? That was the feeling of Murici's Alagoas in their clash against hosts Sport. The Pernambucans came out on top, but that didn't stop the determined team led by captain Juninho Alagoano, who scored the team's second goal to seal the victory and the three points won on the opening day. Confiança-SE 2 - 3 Sampaio Corrêa-MA
One of the strongest teams in the competition, Sampaio Corrêa had two big opponents in the last game of the first round. As well as having to face Confiança-SE, the Maranhenses had to overcome their fatigue and left the field with the three points after a hard-fought 3-2 victory. The Bolivia Querida delegation had problems with the bus that took them from São Luiz to Recife, which meant that they only arrived at their hotel this morning (28/10). But when the ball rolled, the experience of names like Datinha, Sampaio's number 10 and a member of the Brazilian national team, spoke louder and the team was able to cope with the Sergipanos' impetus. GOALS CONFIDENCE: Denyson and Marcos Vinicius. SAMPAIO CORRÊA GOALS: Paulinho, Denner and Alisson.
