Sampaio Corrêa beat Sport by the biggest margin in the competition, and Náutico wins its first match
On the second day of matches in the 2nd stage of the Brazilian Beach Soccer Championship 2020, at the Santos Dumont Sports Center in Boa Viagem, Recife-PE, eight teams faced each other in hotly contested games. The match with the most goals was between Sampaio Corrêa and Sport, where the Maranhão club won 13-4. All the matches were valid for Group B (North/Northeast).
Treze-PB 2 - 6 Cabense-PE
Needing to win to get their first three points of the competition, Treze hosted Cabense in the first game of Round 2. In the opening minutes, the team from Paraíba opened the scoring through Bricio. Cabense took the lead in the second half through Serginho, Kaio and Pablo. Bricio reduced the Pernambuco club's lead and scored his second goal of the game. Pablo increased Cabense's lead in the final stage. Cabense's victory was sealed in the final stage with a superb goal from Felipe Mata and another from João Santana, rounding off the scoring. TREZE GOALS: Bricio (2). CABENSE GOALS: Seginho (1), Kaio (1), Pablo (2), Felipinho (1), João Santana (1).
Sampaio Corrêa-MA 13-4 Sport-PE
By a landslide. That's how Sampaio Corrêa secured a 13-4 victory against Sport in the second round of the national competition. The three points came right from the start of the game. With goals from Datinha, Igor, Tony, Frank, Wallisson, Edin, Dener and Gerlan, the Tricolor de Aço secured qualification for the next stage of the tournament, in Rio de Janeiro. SAMPAIO CORRÊA GOALS: Datinha (2), Igor (2), Tony (1), Frank (1), Walisson (2), Edin (1), Dener (2), Gerlan (2). SPORT GOALS: Juninho (2), Simão (1), Tulio (1).
Murici-AL 3 - 2 Confiança-SE
Murici took to the field in search of their second win in the national competition. Confiança, however, started the brighter and opened the scoring through Miguel de Lima. The Azulino's joy was short-lived, as Cibite equalized for Murici at the end of the first half. The tie persisted into the second half with another goal for each side. In the last half of the game, Dragão created a few chances and secured victory with another goal from Cibite, who was the highlight of the match with two goals. América-RN 2 (0) x (1) 2 Náutico-PE
América-RN took to the field with total authority after winning their first game in the competition 11-3. Mecão opened the scoring in the first half with a goal from Edson Hulk. In the second half, Lucas Xavier equalized for Náutico and Anderson extended the lead for the Reds. Towards the end of the game, André Bigode scored the equalizer for América-RN, taking the game into extra time. In extra time, Náutico claimed victory with a goal from Anderson, earning their first two points. AMÉRICA GOALS: Edson Hulk and André Bigode. NÁUTICO GOALS: Anderson (2) and Lucas Xavier
