The Maranhão team will face América-RN in the race for the Group B title

Unbeaten in the competition, Sampaio Corrêa showed their strength against Cabense in the second semi-final of the 2nd stage of the Brazilian Beach Soccer Championship 2020. Despite going behind early on, with Felipe scoring for Cabense, Sampaio didn't relax and continued to set a strong pace in search of qualification for the final. It didn't take long for Edinho to equalize. Kaio scored an own goal to put the Maranhão club ahead. Paulinho scored the third for Bolivia Querida.
After the break, the game continued to be busy and Sampaio Corrêa spared no effort to increase the score. Jerlan took advantage of the Pernambuco club's slack marking and scored his team's fourth goal of the game. Igor increased the lead shortly afterwards. Looking for an equalizer, Kaio scored Cabense's second, leaving the score at 5-2 to the Maranhenses.
In the last half, Sampaio kept up their good play and scored again through Jerlan and Denner. In search of a comeback, Cabense still scored through João Santana, but Paulinho rounded off the scoring with another goal to secure their place in the final. Final score: 8-3.
Striker Paulinho, scorer of two goals in the match, spoke about the victory.
"The game was a bit tricky, but Sampaio are strong. We managed to balance the game. In the end, thank God, we managed to win. The important thing is that we're undefeated in this championship and we're going strong for the final," he said.
