Brasil Ladies Cup arrives on the market to consolidate itself as the week of women's soccer in the country

? Organized by FIFOS, the project aims to contribute to the development of the sport in Brazil

? The first edition takes place between December 12th and 19th

? Lectures, social actions and a tournament with the participation of eight teams from Brazil and South America mark the inauguration of the event

São Paulo, October 20, 2021 - FIFOS, the International Federation of Football Soccer Society, has announced the launch of the Brasil Ladies Cup, a project that will consolidate itself as the week of women's soccer in Brazil and whose main objective is to contribute to the development of the sport, through activations and events that encourage the practice of the sport in the country.

The debut of the Brasil Ladies Cup takes place between December 12 and 19 in the city of São Paulo. For a week, women's soccer will be the main topic in Brazilian sport with the exchange of knowledge in various lectures, exchange of experiences in soccer clinics, social actions and the first edition of the women's soccer championship which will be attended by eight teams from Brazil and South America. The project, approved by the Sports Incentive Law - LIE of the Special Secretariat for Sport of the Ministry of Citizenship, has the institutional support of the São Paulo Football Federation (FPF).

Brazil Ladies Cup 2021

Ferroviária, Flamengo, Palmeiras, Santos, São Paulo, América de Cali-COL, River Plate-ARG and Santiago Morning-CHI are the teams confirmed for the 1st edition of the championship. Between December 12 and 16, the teams will face each other in 12 matches that will be played at the newly opened Santana de Parnaíba Municipal Stadium. The grand final will take place on December 19 at Allianz Parque.

Off the pitch, the organizers have put together a full schedule of free lectures for professionals and aspiring players. Social activities are also being planned to encourage girls and women of different age groups to take up the sport. The program will be available on the Brasil Ladies Cup social networks.

Our aim is not just to organize the tournament, but to foster the future of the sport, adding knowledge to professionals in the sector and encouraging fans to support the teams, as well as encouraging the practice of the sport," says Marcello Cordeiro Sangiovanni, President of FIFOS.

"It's a great pleasure for the Federation to join initiatives aimed at developing Women's Football as a whole, from training the chain involved in the sport to consolidating the calendar. This is a unique opportunity for Brazilian clubs to compete in a competition with foreign clubs. It will certainly add a lot for everyone, with an exchange of experiences," says Ana Lorena Marche, the FPF's Women's Football coordinator.
